Galle Fort

Galle Fort.


 Galle fort,on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese then fortified by the Dutch  during 17 century.It is a historical place unis-co named this world heritage.

It covers an area of 52 hectares surrounded the Indian ocean. The fort has two main gates the main gate entrance which is on the northern landward side of the fort very heavily fortified.
The old gate with it is British and Dutch inscriptions can be seen if a visitor works in clockwise direction the wall from the main gate.The location is also a grate place to view amazing sunset.
