The captivating sky,

Sun set down like a giant red flower
Spreading its shine throughout the beach
Looking at the wonderful view
It is a beautiful evening
Feel so calm and free
Waves come like a beast conquering the world
Hitting the stone and make white bubbles.
Filling  my heart with tranquil and glee
I imagine,
The vivacity of nature
Is for everyone to see
The natural beauty of nature.

Pearl Oyster in Sri Lanka.

Natural Pearls have been high valued as gemstones and beauty for many countries. petal's are compose of calcium carbonate . pearls is perfectly round and smooth. Pearls are most of colours white,pink,cream yellows. pearl  have been harvested and cultivated primarily for use in jewelry.

        Pearl's are formed in shelled mollusc such as oysters, mussels clams, conch and abalone living in freshwater as well as a protective reaction of the oyster. The period of king vijaya. Thereafter it record king Devanamoiyatissa, sending priceless treasures to king Asoka of India. 4th century BC , notes that "the island of Taprobane was more productive of gold and large pearls than the Indias."

      Indian ocean is most famous for pearl Oysters. In Sri Lanka Manna Bay is most important place for pearl oysters. So we are the first to do it and now we offer oysters as worth as pearls the world.

Phyllanthus Emblica .(Nelli)

The fruit also unique in the sense that is offers a combination of three basic tastes.Phyllanthus emblica  in the family commonly known as Indian gooseberry in English . nellikai in Tamil .the fruit colour is yellow and green mixing colour .

   Most important in the Ayurveda system of medicine. In Sri Lanka nelli trees are mainly found in the dry zone. Nelli can planted in home garden . generally be available almost through the year. The nelli fruit is priceless gift of nature . nelli is one of natural  source of vitamin c.

Nelli juice.

You can easy to make nelli juice. It is a healthy drink.there are many health and beauty benefits. You can improve  eye sight , beneficial for the heart. Prevents cancer.

       Skin benefits are, lighten complexion, anti aging benefits , threat pigmentation ,tone and tighten skin,treatment of pimple scars, hair benefits are strengthen hair,scalp cancer, conditions hair ,prevents hair problem.

Kudiramalai red cliffs

     Kudiramalai red cliffs.

   

The historically significant Tambapanni or Kudiramalai is a ancient sea port.Kudiramalai beach, approached through the Willpattu National Park is a quiet landscape of scrub forests. Willpattu national park is on the northwest coast.30 km west of Anuradhapura and border between north central province.

    

Red earthed coastal cliffs and twisted driftwood. A walk along the beach and through the shallow waters is a great experience , This beach is one of Sri Lanka's most historic locations, where the fabled first king of Sri Lanka, vijaya landed after his banishment from India. The landscape still looks contrasting with the black petrified remains of ancient coral reefs.

  

Prince vijaya landed at Tambapanni now known as Kudiramalai point, married kuweni and founded the sinhala nation, In 1905 there was designated a sanctuary and in 1938 it was upgraded to the National park status. The local king later sent his own envoys to Rome during the time of piling.

 The main topographical feature in this park is the concentration of "villus" or "lakes" within it. The area of  Willpattu National Park is 131,693 ha.The park is most popular place to spot elusive Smith Bear and leoprds.     

Bundala National Park.

This is located in Hambanthota  southern of Sri Lanka. The whole area is almost decorated by vividly coloured species of birds. It is located approximately 6200 hectares.the national park was designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. There are animal species .important bird area in south India .the wetland habitates in Bundala harbors about 100 species of water birds. The lagoons areas are rich of aquatic birds and bio diversity. You can see in this area mammals ,elephants ,spotted cats, wild boar,mouse deer and monkey.

Significance of Betel leaf.

Betel leaves most of use traditional and religious occation . ingredient of Ayurveda betel  but and a coin are placed on a betel leaf to be offered as dakshina for priests and elders in south India. Most of use betels for new year celebration , weddings and funeral.

        Betel leaves are considered are important during  the sinhala and Tamil new year.betel leaves have been an essential item in the every aspect of life from time immemorial offering to betel starts from the smallest unite in the society,the family, elders in the family receive a handful or bundles of betel. During ganu denu elders give the youngsters cash wrapped with betel leaves. At weddings the closed members are invited for wedding  feasts by offering a handful of betel leaves. The betel leaves is given a prominent place in almost activities  of a marriage ceremony.

Betel leaves use as symbol of welcome and respect. Friendship .at all significant moments in Sri Lankan life use "bulath" usually the first offering from a student his teacher. It was the norm in homes to greet visitors with a bulath heppuwa. Therefore betel is important for our culture.

Colombo Museum

Colombo National Museum established in  1877. The building was originally constructed for the Ceylon branch of the Royal society of later come to be known as the Colombo Museum. Popular amongst locals as well as foreigners by 1940.it is branches were opens in Jaffna,Kandy and Rathnapura.

       

    The ground floor displays artefacts belonging to the per and proto historic Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Kandy and traditional periods with stone antiquities gallery. and on the upper floor paintings,ancient textiles, potteryand ceramics, coins, art and crafts.presentation of traditional  agricultural methods .The Tholuwila Buddha statue at the lobby of the entrance to the Museum is the main attraction.

      The Colombo Museum is open to the public from 9.am to 5.pm.

Yoga is the Hindu practice of physical,mental and spiritual discipline . the word is associated with meditating on the Hinduism ,Jainism and Buddhism . the effectiveness of yoga as a complementary intervention for cancer and heart disease , yoga is the morning is amazing our mind clear to positive ideas and messages.

Home gardens all around the Sri Lanka have great variety of plants and trees,flowers,water feature. There were many flowering plants, the tropical climate of Sri Lankans can grow numerous types of trees. Before you design your home garden.you want to think about temperature in the area. Plants help to reduce this effect by absorbing CO2 of the atmosphere.                     The Earthen Goblet is a poem written by Harindranath Chttopadhya. he was an poet, actor and politician a member of the indian lok sabha. he wrote many wonderful English poems . This is one of his most famous poem . Thes poem include about life . though it appears to be about a simple thing as an earthen goblet is a metaphor used by the poet very artistically to convey his message to the world.

   



                        "How did you feel
                         When you were being twirled
                         upon the potter's wheel 
                         Before the potter gave you to the world!

                          I felt a conscious impulse in my clay 
                          to brake away
                          From the great potter hand
                          that burned so warm
                          I felt a vast feeling of sorrow to be cast
                          into my present form


                         Before that fatal hour
                         that saw me captive on the potter's wheel
                         And cast into his crimson goblet sleep
                         I used to feel
                        The fragrant friendship of a little flower
                        Whose root was in my bosom buried deep
                            

                        The potter has drawn out the living breath of me

                         My past unshapely natural stage was best
                         With just one flower flaming through my breast."


                                  The poem appear four stanzas. the goblet answers and the answer of the goblet which forms the next three stanzas of the poem is"tinged with a sense of sadness and helpfulness." Chattopadyay"s poetry usually deals with nature of life. The poem is written as a dialogue between poet and the goblet.a water container what is was and what it"s now. 
                         
         

Island of a thousand mirrors.

Island of a thousand mirrors tell the story about young Sri Lankan women on opposing sides of the devastating Sri Lankan civil war. This book winner of the Commonwealth book prize for Asia, long listed for the Man Asian literary prize. There were two families Yasodhara's tells the story of her own sinhala family. Include the character age,there are love affairs,rich family, difference between Tamil Sinhala culture.

        The second character story is Tamil family. Saraswathie is living in the active war zone in Sri Lanka.The book is cautiously balanced there include deep family bonds. It has an emotional weight that seems to surpassits length.

Power of positive image.

One of the most powerful things that entrepreneurs and succes-seeker can take away from the world of sports and athletic achievement is the effectiveness of visualization and positive thinking.

As a young lad I had some pretty negative image.if you think negative .you will attract more negativity and pain . you might think this discribes karma but in fact the two concepts are very different.with karma ,it is believed that if you do "good" you will rewarded;if you do "bad" you will be punished. Therefore most value thing is  positive thinking to be a good person.

             Humans have a predisposition to negativity. We pay for more attention to dark emotion like anger,sadness,pain, disappointment than we do to great feelings like joy,gratitude and contentment, important things to train your mind for positive thoughts ,meditate , be thankful, be kind,take time yourself,stressless talk yourself up.

           You can get experience as the years went by, I began using imaging whenever t wanted to achieve a certain goal.you can change your thinking by reading books. There are most books in any language.titled " power of positive thinking"it was written Norman Vincent Peal.

         Perhaps the idea of the power of positive thinking was conveyed the me right then and there,buy behind that idea,in it and beyond it was the concept of imaging -holding the image of yourself acceding visualizing it so vividly that when the desired success comes,it seems to be merely echoing a reality that has already existed your mind. Rusevelt said "if you firmly believe you can,why,then you can."

Home Gardening.

In Sri Lankan  home garden people can grow not only flowers ,there are some vegetable and fruits . then we are luckily to get some fresh fruits and vegetables .The need for home gardening is to be self sufficient  in chemical -free food. Dealing with plants is also hobby. In a home garden our main purpose is to fulfill  our vegetable requirement.

     

    A home garden is a very small location in an urban area. Then you can use various techniques pot, bags.every day three times a day you need green chilies for your dishes,so you dedicate a few pots that .you can grow Tomato, Kangkung ,Capsicum,Brinjals .

          In front of the house you can grow fruits Mango,Orange,passion fruits,Cashew .if you take Binjals,Chillies,Capsicum and Tomatoes, normally we plant them in a separate place.if you eat home garden foods we can take healthy foods.

Sri Lankan writer (Marting Wickramasinhe).

Wickramasinhe was a famous Sri Lankan writer ,novelist .Wickramasinhe's writings on the culture village people life style .his work explored and applied modern knowledge in natural and social science , literature , linguistics,the arts , philosophy,education,Buddhism and comparative religion .he was born in1890 in village in southern Sri Lanka,Koggala .The village was bounded on one side by the reef and on the other by a large lake .The area had specific fauna, flora. In his work , he often criticized  opposed dogmatism  ,elitism in all forms that these could be found in culture.

            As a creative writer, Gamperaliya is first Sinhalese novel,with the great novel of modern world literature . this novel include traditional village life . after he followed Gamperaliya,Yuganthaya and Kaliyugaya . Wickramasinghe's most heralded work  come in Virqgaya due to the significance of it's theme.it spiritual problems.

         His work has been translated in English, Tamil,Hindu,Dutch ,German. He died in 1976.

Delgamuwa Raja Maha Viharaya

Delgamuwa Raja Maha Vihara is an ancient Buddhist temple, situated 0.5 km from the main Colombo. Kuruwita town at the end of vihara Mawatha on a hillock.The temple was hidden during for over 40 years Portuguese rule in sri Lanka. The history of Delgamuwa vihara goes back to the period of sithawaka kingdom with the audience of king Mayadunne the tooth relic was brought to Delgamuwa vihara for further safekeeping and kept inside a kurah grinding stone. A few years ofter the removal of tooth relic, Delgamuwa vihara was demolished by the Portuguese who constructed a fort inside.

Ussangoda

Ussangoda,is a small national park in the deep south with reddish soil.the cliffs of Ussangoda lie on 100 hectares in Ambalantota, the parkland,scrub,reddish soil,granite and grassland lie inland on an elevated cliff from the sea.

     The Ussangoda a red cliff,a location  of archaeological value. There is no proper route to access the location as the prevailing path is full of pit holes.

       Situated by the sea with no natural wind-breaks the area in wind blowing and cactus-like plants eg.Karanna,Pathok,Eraminiya plants.the shrubs comprise largely huge cacti with monstrous yellow thorns.

    Mystery of reddish soil.strolling along the breathtaking expanse.I gaze across the sea and the landscape that laps against an inviting beach strip.

       The whole area reveals strange and beautiful colours with an eroding cast  line. Rising over thirty feet in places. Time and weather have left behind layer upon layer of rock and soil. Down the geological ages, nature has carved Ussangoda into fantastic land and mysterious place.

The importance of Being Ernest

Oscar wilds The importance of Being Ernest is set in Victorian England in the late nineteenth century .The play revolves around the lives of characters named Johan Worthing , Gwendolen Fairfax ,Algernon ,Moncrieff and Cecily cardew. The predominant themes in the play the courtship between John and Gwendolen who is Algernon's cousin.John goes by the name of Ernest in London and he is known as jack in his country home in the Hertfordshire . John invest a fictional bother named Ernest who is always getting into trouble so that he can escape the boredom of the country and indulge in pleasure in London  .Algernon also named Bunbury who is an in order to avoid unpleasant situation .Algemon poses ad jack's bother Ernest and visits his country home because he wants to meet Cecily. The climax of the play occurs when John finds out the true nature of his birth. When John was a baby he was deposited into a hand bag that was adopted by the gentleman who found him.

         The fictional characters of Ernest and Bunbury   reveal the double life of John and Algernon and Wilde critiques the hypocrisy and satire in the play.

Child Labour

Child labour is the act of a employing and engaging children in the economic activities . child labour is a big issues in the country economic activities like in the explorative industry,illegal business. In Sri  Lanka the law defines children as the below the age 18 years. This years children must attend school.

       Sri Lanka has undertaken many positive steps toward the education child labours .Elimination of child labour in Sri Lanka 2017 mooted by the labour Ministry notes that as the use,procuring or offering of a child for prostitution.

       Key factor are,lack of awareness, poor family and not parent safty  development ,lack of support catch up educational facilities.

        Sri Lankan legal mechanism has sufficient legislation for the eradication of child engagement in hazardous as well as other from labour. The employment women young persons and children ACT No 47  of 1956 (EWYPCA) drctly addressed and regulates the issues of child labour. Further more, the country has network of government institutions .vested with the responsibility of the protection of it is future generation while the National child protection Authority.

       However serious issues exist with regard to the gap between 14 years old and 18years,during which many children are either trafficked or enter the hazardous labour sector the effects of which can be harmful to their health morals safety. There fore elders must attention this labour children. people can inform suitable sector like child protection Authority and help this children in the society.

The village by the sea.

The village by the sea was written by Anita Desai. A story of Indian family,16 miles away from Bomby. The story depicts the lifestyle of poor Indian families living near by sea. The character in the story, the unemployed father was a drinker. He drinks all the time and  unable 

to work due to his hard drinking habit. mother was suffering from sick and laying in bed all the time. Three sister and one brother .two younger sisters who are studying at school .Lila the elders douthter though only 13 years old .she stopped going to school due to economical problems.Hari soon become food provides of their family. The story seems to move slowly, but it moves ,an empathetically keep you in sync with the characters. Hair goes to Bombay for a job . Lila seems to be everything for survival of  rest of family . Lila keep her mother was admitted to hospital .the story end positively author tells about how badly monsoon affects their daily lives.This book is really very emotional and sensitive.

Sri Lankan Painter

                                       

Kalsasuri Jayasiri Semege is a Sri Lankan artist and newspaper,illustrator Semage belongs to a long line of traditional Sri Lankan artist "staple to his art , are echoes and ripples of Buddhist rites and ritual which he imbibed growing up in Ambalangoda, in southern in Sri Lanka. He is traditional artist as well as the more than other oil paintings and a dozen water colours on display all depict rural Sri Lankan village life. They were simply the beauty he sees in every day village life. In the most basic acts of human nature. the intense  emotional and that connect human beings is a central feature of Kalasuri paintings between members of a look cal community, ora religious group.mother and child. He most of use his paintings human beings .

Sigiriya

Sigiriya is a historical mounument of Sri Lanka. Ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near to Dambulla. This site was selected by king Kasyapa (477-495 CE) for his new capital .Referred by local as the Eighth wonder of the world this ancient place. Significant archaeological this ancient rock 200 meters higher than the surrounding jungles . There are surrounding vast gardens,ponds,canals,alleys and fountains.

      

Sigiriya Lion claws is located in the northern side of the rock. It was designed in the form of a huge stone, upper parts of the lion. The name of Sigiriya originates from the world sinhagiri.

         Sweeping stroke paintings is eastern wall of sigiriya. There was created during the reign of Kasyapa  .paintings are female characters.

          
Sigiriya has water gardens. There are located in the garden. In the rainy season, all channels are filled with water.
